Both competitions will rest mid-season on the weekend of July 1st, with the return of interstate representative football, which will see Queensland take on Tasmania.

Competitions Manager – QLD, Mitch Simpson, said he was excited to see the competition’s standard lift year on year and anticipated the bar to be raised again in 2023.

“We’ve seen some significant signings and marquee recruits across the QAFL so I’m looking forward to seeing the new talent taking the competition to another level this year” he said.

“On the back of 12 players being drafted out of the Bond University QAFLW in 2022, I’m excited to see what potential AFLW talent we unearth in 2023.”

An official announcement of the State Leagues 2023 fixtures, including AFL Queensland’s marquee community football rounds – Sir Doug Nicholls and Pride Round, will take place in the following weeks.
