SEQAFL U18 Div 1 Cup semi-final preview

1st Semi Final

Saturday 25th August
10.30am Sandgate AFC (Lemke Rd)

Western Magpies v Noosa

Western Magpies and Noosa will meet for the third time this year in tomorrow’s Under 18 Division 1 Cup semi-final at Sandgate.

Although the Magpies have beaten the Tigers on both occasions, slim margins suggest this game could go down to the wire.

Western Magpies will hope Timmy Peck, Billy North and Brady Allen can play as well as they did in the loss to Maroochydore last weekend.

Noosa are on a high after an emphatic win over Wilston Grange last week and will hope that puts them in good stead for this game.

Nick Coombs, Jai Fitzpatrick and Bradley Forbes will hope to continue their form which will go a long way in securing a victory for the Tigers.

Will the magpies swoop into the preliminary final or will the tigers claw their way through, find out Saturday at 10.30am.

2nd Semi Final

Saturday 25th August
1.00pm Sandgate AFC (Lemke Rd)

Sandgate v Maroochydore

A bye in the last round and top of the ladder finish has given Sandgate a two week break heading into this week’s semi-final.

Sandgate and Maroochydore have played each other only nce during the regular season with Sandgate coming out on top by 11 points in a very low scoring, wet game.

Sandgate are hoping that Ben Conway, Corbin Dickfos and 2011 league Best and Fairest Tyler Arnott – Hollick continue the form they have had this season and that forward Jordan Fuller (28 Goals) has his kicking boots on.

Maroochydore hit the ground running from the start of last week’s game and will be hoping to blow Sandgate out of the water early this week.

Maroochydore played as a complete team last weekend and will be hoping for similar input from all 22 players this weekend.

Will the mini holiday be the perfect platform for the Hawks to fly into the Grand Final or will the Roos bounce over the preliminary final and into the decider?  Find out Saturday at 1.00pm.
