Under 18 Division 1 Cup Qualifying/Elimination Final
It’s a massive weekend for the start of the Under 18 Division One Cup finals with a top 5 fighting to get through to the big one.
Sandgate enjoy the weekend off due to winning the minor premiership.
Noosa v Wilston Grange
Sunday 10.30am Maroochydore AFC (Fisherman’s Road)
Noosa and Wilston Grange have met only once this season with Noosa winning the encounter by over 15 Goals.
But that match was in June and Wilston Grange have come into some good form towards the end of the season.
Players to watch for Wilston Grange include Rhys O’Dwyer, Lachlan Nixon Smith and Mackenzie Wise .
Noosa will be hoping to continue on throughout the finals series with another convincing win over the gorillas.
Noosa players hoping to star are Bradley Forbes and Lincoln High. In front of goal Tim Gaynor and Dylan Murray need to be watched bagging over 50 goals between them so far this year.
Will the Tigers maul Wilston Grange or will the Gorillas swing into the 2nd week of the finals?
Maroochydore v Western Magpies
Sunday 1.00pm Maroochydore AFC (Fisherman’s Road)
Maroochydoore and Western Magpies have played twice this year with Maroochydore winning both, the 2nd game tighter than the first.
Maroochydore with home ground advantage will be a great test for the Magpies and Hayden Matthews and Jacob Chapman will need to be stopped if they are going to win this game.
The Magpies will also need to keep a tight leash on league leading Goal Kicker Hayden Smoothey who is dangerous if given the opportunity and Jack Fox, Billy North and Timmy Peck will to dominate possession and feed Ryan Fletcher in front of goals.
This game will be a cracker with the winner facing Sandgate for a shot at a Grand Final berth. All is not lost for the loser who will walk away with a second chance.
Will the Roos bound away with the victory or will the Magpies swoop into next week full of confidence?
