Robina Roo’s Men’s Senior Coach

Founded in 1996, the Robina Mudgeeraba Roos are a Gold Coast based Australian Rules Football Club currently fielding 4 teams at senior level – 2 x Men’s (Div 2 South), 1 x Women’s (Div 2 South) & 1 x Men’s Masters. We are also home to one of the fastest growing junior clubs in Queensland, with the largest Auskick program on the Gold Coast. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced coaches who are interested in joining our rapidly growing and exciting Club in 2025 as Head Men’s Senior Coach.

Our Men’s squad currently comprises of ex-AFL players, experienced community footballers, as well as in-experienced younger players with plenty of potential to improve. With the majority of 2024’s senior playing list already committed to 2025, it is our expectation that the incoming coach will be provided with a competitive playing list to work with, improve, and achieve success in 2025.

The Senior Men’s Head Coaching role is to manage the on-field performance of the club’s senior men’s team and develop the overall playing list. The role will also provide leadership within the football department and club as a whole, assisting in the mentoring of the other coaches, recruitment, coordination of resources and assist in the development of our junior program.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
– 2+ years experience as a Coach or Assistant Coach at a level equivalent to, or higher than, QFA Division 2
– Ability to recruit experienced players and support staff
– Professional approach & ability to work as part of a team
– Highly developed leadership skills
– Demonstrated ability to engage and relate to players
– Demonstrated football administration skills
– Demonstrated organisational skills
– Excellent verbal communication skills
– Must be a good ambassador for the club and a good role model for all members of our club regardless of age or gender.

Desirable attributes include:
– Level 2 Coaching Accreditation (or willing to obtain)
– Understanding of industry best practice with respect to talented player development, sports science, game plan and game sense, use of available technology and skills development
– Credibility within, and well connect throughout, the local football community
– Computer literacy and excellent written communication skills

The following resources will be provided by the Club to assist the Senior Men’s Coach:
Playing budget
– 2-3 assistant/line coaches (with AFL experience)
– A Strength & Conditioning Coach
– Access to Trainers & Physios
– Access to a Football Manager to assist with training and game preparation
