Queensland has suffered a harsh reality check in their third game of the Australian Women’s Championships in Adelaide.

The Queensland girls were beaten 0-3 (3) to 18-5 (113) by the unbeaten Victorians, who are a raging hot favorite to win tomorrow’s division one grand final.

Jo Butland, of North Cairns, and Monica Duggan, from Manunda, were Queensland’s with Logan’s Jade Pregelj, Kedron’s Liz  Scott, Manunda’s Kareena White and Morningside’s Emma Zielke.
Still, with Western Australia beating South Australia in the other division one match today, Queensland, who beat SA on the opening day, finished third in the top pool with a 1-2 win/loss record.

In other matches in a third round dominated by one-sided affairs, NSW belted Northern Territory 14-8 (92) to 1-1 (7), ACT trounced Tasmania 15.10 (100) to 2.3 (15), and Western Australia were too good for South Australia 11.11 (77) to 3.8 (26).

So, NSW will meet ACT in the division two final tomorrow, followed by the division one decider between Victoria and Western Australia.
