QWAFL Rd 15 + QWAFA Finals

Zillmere will be hoping to add another win to their tally against Yeronga, when the two clash tomorrow in the QWAFL.

The Eagles claimed their first win over the Devils a fortnight ago, and will be looking to take their total to two, going into their penultimate home and away match.

Yeronga will be hoping to break out of its recent funk,  that has seen the side lose two games in a row, at O’Callaghan Park.

UQ are well out of finals contention, but they could help shape the ladder with a win over Wilston Grange tomorrow.

A win to the Red Lionesses, who beat Wilston Grange in their last match up, could give Coolangatta a chance to leapfrog the Gorillas in the final regular round and sneak into the top four.

Grange could seal a finals spot in their inaugural season with a win over the Red Lionesses.

Coorparoo takes on Griffith Moorooka in the final match of the weekend, hoping to maintain their lead in the competition.

The Navy Roos have still dropped just one match this season and are enjoying a rich vein of form, with finals just two weeks away.

A win would make them unassailable as minor premiers, with a hefty percentage gap and an extra win on the rest of the competition.

QWAFA Finals

Preliminary Final

Caboolture VS Western Magpies

Saturday 23rd August

Kianawah Rd, Wynnum

9AM

Ladder leaders Caboolture host fourth placed Western Magpies Saturday morning for the birth in next week’s QWAFA Grand Final against Zillmere.

Similar to NFL star, Peyton Manning, Caboolture proved they were to be the premier side during the home and away season, but were brought down in the first week of finals, by Zillmere.

Consequently, Saturday’s sudden death encounter provides for some interesting subplots.

Fresh off a bye in Round 14, the Pies lead at every break to put UQ’s Red Lionesses away by 47 points in the first semi-final last weekend.

With 13 goals from her past three games, Rachael Milns could hold the key to an away victory for the side.

However Caboolture are not without their own threats in front of goal, with duo Amber Rabl and Anneliese Piczak kicking 26 majors between them in their 12games this season.

Look for the Lions to come out roaring.
