Queensland selectors have named a squad of 25 to take on NSW/ACT at Blacktown on July 19.
The squad has retained 21 of the 23 players who defeated Tasmania at Burpengary on June 7.
Ruckman Rachael Anstey (knee) and small forward Dania Herdman (hamstring) will miss due to long-term injuries.
New additions to the squad are 17-year-old South Toowoomba small forward Shaleise Law, while Brooke Spence, Beth Pinchin, and Kaitlyn Cantrell were recalled after missing the final selection cut for the Tasmania game.
The squad includes Queensland’s five current AFL Exhibition Game players (Emma Zielke, Emily Bates, Jordan Zanchetta, Leah Kaslar, & Tayla Harris), plus Ally Anderson (Zillmere) and Natalie Thomas (Yeronga) who have previously played at this level.
13 of the 25 players in the preliminary squad are aged 21 or younger, including four (Luana Healy, Shaleise Law, Tahlia Randall, & Tayla Harris) who were a part of the second placed Queensland Youth Girls at the 2015 National Championships in WA.
Harris, Law, and Randall were selected in the All-Australian team at this carnival.
The squad also includes two Cairns based players, Selina Goodman & Luana Healy, both from the North Cairns Tigers
The squad will train at the State Training and Administration Centre, Yeronga on Wednesday July 1, July 8, July 15 and Friday July 17.
A final team of 23 will be selected on Wednesday July 15 for the game on July 19, which will take place after the Sydney University vs. Brisbane Lions NEAFL game.
