AFL Queensland today released the 2017 fixture for the inaugural Queensland Football Association (QFA) Wide Bay / Sunshine Coast competition.
The new competition is a part of a South East Queensland male competition restructure that sees five divisions sitting below the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) in 2017.
The QFA Wide Bay / Sunshine Coast senior competition includes seven teams; Across the Waves Eagles, Brothers Bulldogs, Hervey Bay Bombers and Bay Power from the Wide Bay region and Pomona Cooroy District Demons, Gympie Cats and Maroochydore Roos from the Sunshine Coast.
The reserves will be a Wide Bay based competition featuring Waves Eagles, Brothers Bulldogs, Hervey Bay Bombers, Maryborough Bears and Bay Power.
Senior matches will be played on Saturday afternoons in the Wide Bay and Friday night /Saturday afternoons on the Sunshine Coast.
Reserves matches will be played on Saturdays.
The competition gets underway on Saturday April 1, with the Grand Final to be played on Saturday August 26.
