Aspley vs Maroochydore

After sitting out round one with a BYE, Aspley will be looking to hit the ground running against the high-flying ‘Roo’s.

Three goals from former Brisbane Lion Daniel Dzufer and a man of the match display from Josh Norman shows that the boys from Maroochydore mean business for 2015.

Falling just short of a finals berth last season, the ‘Roo’s will look to continue their good form, but with a tricky opponent in Aspley, spectators can expect a rip-roaring contest.

Nambour and Hinterland vs Mayne

The last time these two teams met, it was the Mayne Tigers who took the 4 points back to Mott Street with an emphatic 167 point victory.

A lot has changed since Round 14 of last year, and Nambour will be looking to ambush the reigning premiers who have not lost a game since 2013.

After a gritty 26 point win over their Tiger counterparts, Noosa, the Blues will have to come out firing to take down the Mayne Juggernaut.

Noosa vs Moreton Bay

Moreton Bay picked up its first points of the season in a close encounter against a plucky Caloundra outfit playing at North Street.

While the 20 point victory speaks volumes of the team that failed to win a game in 2014, it will be another test entirely to last season’s Runner up.

The Tigers fought hard over four quarters in their grand final rematch and will be hungry to add their first points of the new campaign.

Moreton Bay are the dark horses of the competition and will be looking to impress in an intriguing battle at Weyba Road.

Caloundra BYE

Caloundra have a week off to rest up and re-coup after a tough 20 point loss to Moreton Bay at home. They play Nambour and Hinterland the following week.

QFA South Round 2 Preview

Coolangatta-Tweed vs Alexandra Hills

Two teams, two losses, both desperate to register their first competition points for the year.

Coolangatta-Tweed went down by 33 points to last year’s Runner up and will be looking to go all the way against the Bombers.

The Bombers faced a tough day at the office against a strong Coorparoo team, dismantled by 115 points.

But as they say in football, there is always next week, and Alexandra Hills will be looking to put the disappointment of the last round behind them with a strong performance against the Blues.

Kenmore vs Coorparoo

Kenmore will be looking to bounce back after a tough 41 point loss to Yeronga South Brisbane in Round 1.

However, they face a tough competitor in Coorparoo who will have a full wind in their sails after an emphatic round 1 victory.

With both teams finishing mid-table last season, each side has plenty to prove that they’ll be there when it counts at the end of the season.

Robina vs Burleigh

After going down by 81 points to Coomera in Round 1, Robina face an enormous challenge to turn it around against last year’s Runner’s up, Burleigh.

Burleigh started the year in style running out 33 point victors against Coolangatta-Tweed and will be looking to continue their strong form as they look to go one better in 2015.

Spectators can expect a tough game at Scottsdale Drive, with plenty being played for.

Springwood vs Coomera

The premiers took a week off and should be well rested as they face an in form Coomera, fresh off their 81 point victory over Robina.

What shapes to be the game of the round, Springwood will be looking to show off their new squad as they attempt to assault the competition in style.

This game should be a hard, tightly contested game and will most likely be determined through the midfield.

Spectators should be out in droves in what should be a mouth-watering encounter.

Yeronga South Brisbane BYE

After a strong round one victory over Kenmore, the Devils have a week off to rest and recuperate. They face Coomera in round three.
