QAFLW to be livestreamed in 2019

AFL Queensland is pleased to announce the streaming of Queensland Australian Football League Women’s (QAFLW) matches for the first time in 2019.

Each week, at least one QAFLW game will be streamed live and free with play-by-play commentary. Over 19 games will be livestreamed across the regular season and finals.

The announcement comes following the success of QAFL livestreaming in 2018, which drew over 55,000 viewers across the season.

QAFL games will once again be livestreamed in 2019, providing viewers the best coverage of Queensland’s top male and female senior football competitions.

2019 will be the first time AFL Queensland has committed to the free, unmitigated coverage of both senior man’s and women’s football.

AFL Queensland State Football Operations Manager Barry Gibson said the new and continued coverage will provide all fans of Queensland football the best opportunity to watch their teams.

“In our first year of QAFL livestreaming we received great feedback and we look forward to building on that success in 2019,” Gibson said.

“This year we’re excited to extend our coverage to the QAFLW competition and consequently bring greater promotion and visibility of the league,”

Streaming games allows us to reach new regional, national and international audiences and provides greater sponsorship opportunities to clubs.”
