QAFL Colts Preliminary Final Match Review

Submitted by Chris Yeend.

Broadbeach advanced to another Colts Grand Final when it came from behind at quarter-time to defeat Maroochydore by 28-points.

The Roos kicked the opening two goals of the game to lead by 13-points at the first break.

The Cats responded in the second term with three goals to edge ahead by the narrowest of margins at half-time.

With the game firmly in the balance; neither team could get the edge over the other, especially with Broadbeach kicking 1.6 as opposed to Maroochydore kicking 2.0; and the margin still remaining at one-point heading into the final change.

Broadbeach put its best foot forward in the last term with a remarkable 5.4 to 1.1 to storm away and celebrate a 28-point win; 9.14.68 to 6.4.40.

Ben Brown was in fine touch for the winners with three goals while Reef Webb was outstanding.

For Maroochydore; Nathan Jensen and young gun Nate Smith both kicked two goals.

Maroochydore now face Palm Beach Currumbin in the Grand Final and boast a 0-2 record against in season 2022.
