The evolution of the Ormeau Bulldogs Football Club continues, with the club securing a spot in the 2017 QFA Division 4 competition.
Founded in 2008, Ormeau currently has over 220 players participating in junior and youth competitions and, aside from a Masters team, this will be the Bulldogs first foray into senior men’s community football.
Boasting a quality facility with two grounds, the Bulldogs home venue will be further enhanced over the summer months with new lighting, coaching boxes and a picket fence installed on the main oval.
AFL Queensland State Football Operations Manager, Barry Gibson, said the Bulldogs have worked hard to build a senior player base and are well positioned to quickly establish themselves as a competitive outfit in the Division 4 competition.
“Ormeau put forward an impressive pitch to join our QFA Division 4 comp, which coupled with their location and desire to enter the Friday night market, made supporting their application an easy decision to make,” said Gibson.
“Currently we have no other teams in the area competing in the Friday night competition, so we are comfortable that their entry wont adversely affect neighbouring clubs”.
