Four different regions of the State will be represented when the Northern States Cup minor finals series is played at Giffin Park, Coorparoo next Wednesday.

Chasing the right to travel to Sydney to play the NSW winner in the prestigious Under 14 competition, four Queensland schools will do battle next week.

Regular finalists Benowa State High face Anglican Church Grammar School in the first final, while the Sunshine Coast’s Mountain Creek State High tackles St Andrew’s from Cairns in the second.

Both matches start at 10.15am.

The winners meet immediately after at 11.45am.

There is one more roadblock on the way to Sydney with the victor having to face the winner of the Queensland Schools of Excellence Brisbane Lions Cup for the right to contest the national final.

The local grand final will be played at the Gabba on Wednesday 3 August.

Former Brisbane Lions star Darryl White will be involved in the semi-finals round next Wednesday as coach of Anglican Church Grammar School.
