NAB AFL Auskick on the Beach launches in Queensland

Surf, sand, sunshine and footy. Name a better combo. We’ll wait…..

Introducing NAB AFL Auskick on the Beach!

It’s NAB AFL Auskick as you know it but delivered on the beautiful beaches Queensland is world famous for.

Nobby Beach on the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast’s Dicky Beach will play host to the Queensland-first program, being delivered in partnership with Surf Life Saving Queensland.

Head of AFL Queensland, Trisha Squires, said AFL Queensland would roll out the initiative in December, as school holidays start and summer kicks into gear.

“This is a new school holiday event combining many aspects of the traditional NAB AFL Auskick program with beach themed activities and beach safety initiatives,” she said.

“The two events on the Gold and Sunshine Coast’s will enable kids with the opportunity to learn new footy skills, have a kick, work up a sweat and cool off with a swim – does it get any more Queensland than that?

“More people are playing Australian football than ever before in Queensland; our community NAB AFL Auskick numbers were up 31% this year and this is just another way we are introducing our game to young people.”

As part of the program, participants will also learn about beach safety from the team at Surf Life Saving Queensland.

Registrations are now open, and kids aged five to 10 are encouraged to sign up. All participants will receive a NAB AFL Auskick Beach Pack with Sherrin Beach Footy, Beach Towel and Bag.

AFL Queensland thanks the City of Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast Council for their support in delivering the program.
