Fiona McLarty has been named coach of the Under 17 Gold Coast Sunsets who will compete in the Youth Girls State Championships next month.
McLarty has previously coached the Brisbane Flames and played for Surfers Paradise and the Queensland Sunfire.
“I’m really excited to be appointed the coach of the Gold Coast Sunsets and can’t wait to get started with the girls,” said McLarty.
“Hopefully we will have a strong championships and have some success.”
McLarty will be assisted by Kieran Daley, a current Redland Bombers NEAFL player and AFL Queensland Development Coordinator.
Daley has previously coached the Under 14 Gold Coast Stingrays and the Under 14 Country Kookaburras.
Other off field appointments for the Sunsets include Ally Kenwood as Team Manager and Guy Bulmer as Team Trainer.
