David Lake will be Morningside’s senior coach for 2014.
David Lake has today been announced as head coach of Morningside for 2014.
Lake, who is currently the coaching director at the Panthers, will be back in a local senior role for the first time since 2011, when he stood down as coach at Mt Gravatt.
The Queensland footy stalwart has seen plenty of success as a coach, leading Mt Gravatt to a premiership in 2007, as well as multiple finals series.
His success at the Vultures saw him named 2007 Coach of the Year.
He is also currently the coach of the AFL PNG/Pacific Islands side and has played a key role in developing the game in that region.
Lake has a long history with the Panthers, as a past player himself, with his sons also having played at the club.
Given his current role at the club, Lake was the best-placed to move into the role in 2014, helping the senior players as well as working across all sections of the club to develop junior players.
