INDIGENOUS TRAINEE IN ROCKHAMPTON

AFLQ has appointed its first Indigenous trainee to the AFL Capricornia region.

Daniel Bartlett has already begun work in the Rockhampton-based office with regional development manager Scott Smithwick.

Daniel grew up in Gayndah near Bundaberg until Year 9 when he relocated to Townsville to complete his schooling at Kirwan State High School in 2010.

While at high school, Daniel completed his certificate 2 in recreation as well as  certificate 1 in work education, general construction and engineering.

Daniel is a keen sports enthusiast.

He was a representative player with the Central Queensland Comets under 18 rugby league side this winter and was a standout at the triple jump and 100m sprint at high school athletics.

“Daniel was outstanding through the recruitment process and offered a good balance of academic background and practical skills,” said AFLQ engagement manager Trent Ryan.
