Hornets and Sharks in Colts GF

Surfers Sharks scraped into the Colts grand final, with a one-point win over Maroochydore.

The Sharks were on the back foot early, after kicking nine points from their opening scoring shots, to trail by 21 points at the major break.

It was ultimately their collection of behinds, though, that saw them over the line at the final siren, over the Roos.

The Sharks booted the only three goals of the final term to clinch the victory and take their spot in this weekend’s grand final.

Michael Balanda was impressive for the Sharks in victory, while Ethan Fava was instrumental.

Surfers shared the goal kicking around, with five individual goal kickers in the match.

Thomas Buckle was the best for Maroochydore in the tight loss, while Soul Cormick also battled hard all day.

The Sharks will face Aspley in the Colts grand final, after the Hornets had a comfortable victory voer Redland in their preliminary final.

Aspley kicked four goals to one in the first term to take a fair buffer into the opening break, continuing to stretch their advantage through the course of the match.

Josh Elmslie kicked five for the Hornets in the win, while James Scroope and Daniel Williams were influential in their victory.

Isaac Mole was one of the better performers for Redland on a tough afternoon, while Harrison Hunkinand Tim Menzies were all solid.

Aspley and Surfers both finished on top of their respective Colts conferences at the conclusion of the regular season, with just two losses for the year.
