The Pennycuick Punter

On Fox Footy’s AFL Bounce last Sunday Night, Springwood Puma James Pennycuick began his quest for revenge in the AFL’s longest kick competition.  A 71-metre barrel on a wet and windy wildcard day saw him earn a spot in the AFL Longest Kick competition on grand final day for the second straight year.

Smokin Food Truck at the Broadbeach Cats

This Sunday from 10am at the Broadbeach Cats Australian Football Club, the food and beverage company, ‘Chunkys Texas Smokers’, will be providing chicken wings, pork, and gravy rolls among other of their delicious meals for the semi-final against Morningside in the QAFL senior competition.

Big Bad Barry is Back

This Saturday Labrador welcome back AFL icon Barry Hall back into their QAFL senior side when they come up against Palm Beach Currumbin.  The game starts at 2pm at Cooke Murphy Oval Labrador, and the Labrador community are excited to have Baz back in the side.

Darling Downs Finals Frenzy

On Saturday, the Darling Downs have their fix of community footy finals with games from 8am all the way through to the last game at 4:45pm. All games will be held at Rockville Park in Toowoomba with free admission. The canteen and bar will be open all do for food and drink. The schedule of grand finals is as follows:

08:00am – University Cougars AFC Vs. Coolaroo Football Club/ Highfields Lions AFC – U12’s

09:25am – University Cougars AFC Vs. Coolaroo Football Club/ Highfields Lions AFC – U14’s

11:00am – Coolaroo Football Club/ Highfields Lions AFC Vs. University Cougars AFC – U16’s

12:45pm – Warwick Redbacks A.F.C Vs. Dalby Swans AFC – Division 2 Men’s

02:45pm – Toowoomba Australian Football Club Vs. Dalby Swans AFC – Women’s

04:45pm – University Cougars AFC Vs. Goondiwindi Hawks Australian Football Club – Division 1 Men’s

Moorooka Mad Monday

The Griffith Moorooka senior and reserves squads have taken inspiration from the Beatles in their mad Monday celebrations. The boys posted the image below of the famous band wearing rooster heads that represent their own club mascot, Griff.
