FOOTY FAIR AT ZILLMERE

Thursday 3 March 2011

Clubs throughout the city’s north have been invited to staff a stall at the inaugural Brisbane North Footy Fair.

Planned for Friday 1 April from 5-8pm at O’Callaghan Park, Zillmere, the Footy Fair is designed to showcase all local clubs to the community in a festive atmosphere.

Stall space has been offered free to all clubs. One of those will be a girl’s football stall to advertise female football.

The evening will include football clinics, a game every hour, jumping castles and face-painting.

Event organizers are also hopeful of attracting a number of AFL players to attend.

“The Footy Fair will be AFLQ Brisbane North’s major transition initiative for the year to help increase club numbers across the region,” said development manager Brett Fragiacomo.

“One of our priorities is to transition our high participation numbers in game development programs into the club football environment.

“We believe this night will be fun-filled for all in attendance as well as giving those who were not aware of their local club the opportunity to sign up and enjoy the benefits of the club football environments.”
