First up win for Queensland in Youth Girls Champs

Queensland showed plenty of talent to defeat Victoria Country by 22 points in an attacking game of football at Bendigo Bank Stadium in Mandurah today, Monday May 4.

The first Pool A game of the Championships was a highly entertaining contest, with both sides showing great skill and commitment.

Queensland’s Shaliese Law provided the highlight of the game with a spin through traffic finished with a terrific goal from the forward pocket, while Luana Healey was also impressive for the winners with two goals including a great snap around the body.

Vic Country started the game well to lead by six points at quarter time before Queensland kicked two unanswered goals in the second term to hold a seven point lead at the main break.

Only one point separated the teams at the end of a tight third quarter before Queensland took control in the fourth, booting three goals while containing Vic Country to a solitary point.
