Park Ridge’s U15 girls team have claimed the club’s first premiership – boys or girls.
The girls (pictured below) beat competition newcomers Zillmere 11-9-75 to 4-4-28 in the grand final that was played at Coorparoo on Sunday as a curtain-raiser to the senior Women’s League premiership decider.
Renee King (pictured top left), who shared the Pirates captaincy with Lyndelle Brookes (pictured right), was best afield in a game that onlookers said was much closer than the final scoreline suggests.
