One of AFL’s greatest players will grace the Darling Downs region on Saturday, June 25 for a one-off game.
AFL great, Brownlow Medallist, two-time Anzac Day Medallist, Premiership player, five-time All-Australian and 258game Collingwood superstar, Dane Swan will pull on the boots for Coolaroo Football Club when they face the University Cougars.
The game will be played at Rockville Oval and will be followed by the CLO Lawyers and Recover Legal Dane Swan Sportsperson Dinner with Dane himself.
Coolaroo Head Coach, Miels Grice, said “It’s a massive coup of football on the Darling Downs, not only for our football club but this gives kids and AFL fans the chance to see someone of a premiership player calibre and Brownlow Medallist like Dane.”
Coolaroo senior men’s team currently sit on top of the AFL Darling Downs table as the only undefeated team.
Competition Manager, Jana Anderson, said the club had had a strong start to the year.
“Coolaroo have begun there 2022 campaign with some strong wins across all age groups,” she said.
“The introduction of new coaches into their junior division has had a massive positive impact on the development of the younger age groups with promising results.”
