The 2024 QAFL Grand Final will be contested at Brighton Homes Arena, Springfield, on Sunday, September 15th.
The world-class venue, home to the Brisbane Lions, will host the premier men’s competition in Queensland for the first time, following its role in the 2023 Bond University QAFLW Grand Final.
Queensland Competition Manager Mitchell Simpson expressed his enthusiasm for the event, praising the venue’s suitability for the grand final.
“Brighton Homes Arena is one of the best AFL venues in the state, and we are excited to showcase it for the 2024 QAFL Grand Final,” he said.
“This venue will offer an unparalleled AFL-standard experience for players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and fans alike.
“It’s a marquee event, and in addition to the three premier football matches—colts, reserves, and seniors—there will be activities for the entire family.”
Head of AFL Queensland and International, Trisha Squires, expressed her gratitude to the Brisbane Lions for their support in making the event possible despite a packed football calendar.
“September is a busy month for football, with the Brisbane Lions’ AFL team performing strongly, their VFL team in contention for a home final at Brighton Homes Arena, and their AFLW team entering their season,” she said.
“We are very appreciative of the Brisbane Lions’ support in allowing the QAFL Grand Final to be held at Brighton Homes Arena.
“Grand final days are a significant opportunity to showcase our competition and its talent and I am excited that in 2024 this can be done on the big stage at the home of the Brisbane Lions.
“I wish all of our QAFL players, coaches, officials and volunteers the very best for the rest of their seasons.”
This will mark the first time since 2013 that the QAFL Grand Final is played on a Sunday.
