Rochedale Ravens NAB Auskick numbers have ballooned in 2012
Rochedale Ravens FC has seen a massive boost in NAB Auskick participant numbers this year.
The Ravens launched in 2010 and had 20 participants in their inaugural 2011 Auskick program. This year that figure has ballooned to 68, delighting club personnel.
Coordinated by Club President Peter Gibbons and some of the clubs junior coaches, the Auskick program has already led to a number of young boys and girls signing up for the new AFL Brisbane Junior’s Under 6’s program, which will kick off after Easter.
Gibbins said he was excited by the growth in the program, which has placed a focus on involving both children and parents.
“It’s the first time in a while that 5 and 6 year old kids can play club football of a weekend and we’ve had children and parents jumping at the opportunity,” he said.
“We have already signed up 10 new Under 8 players as well, which is great for the club.”
“It’s been challenging managing so many kids, given the jump in numbers from last year, but with the amount of parent and volunteer help we have , we feel we are giving the kids a really fun and friendly environment to play football in.”
