AFLQ HELPS COMMUNITY

Thursday 29 July 2010

AFLQ’s extended community work has been of great benefit to a Brisbane school which joined the football family last year.

The fledgling Rochedale Ravens club was set up out of Rochedale State School and a healthy relationship has blossomed since then.

As part of the ongoing dealings, AFLQ Community Development Manager David O’Leary has provided guidance to the school in helping to obtain a number of grants from State and Local Government totaling more than $160,000 for this year alone.

“I don’t think too many organisations could claim to have done so much for a school in such a short time period,” said Rochedale principal Liam Smith.

O’Leary’s expertise has been utilized by a host of junior clubs around the State to access funding for a whole range of improvements.
