The AFL Townsville 2020 season kicks off on Saturday 11 July with Hermit Park and the Bulldogs going head to head in the 2019 Grand Final replay. Hermit park came out on top in 2019 and the Bulldogs are keen to inflict an early loss on the Tigers.
The Curra Swans are being touted as the big improvers of 2020 and take on the SUNS in the other Senior Match. New Coach and former Tiger, Jamie Fogg has Joined the Swans and is looking forward to the challenge of building the Swans back to an AFL Townsville powerhouse.
Junior Football also kicks off with full compliment of Under 9 – 17s taking part in the day.
The Women’s competition also kicks off on Saturday at Muldoon with the Curra Swans, under new Coach Alex Clarey, taking on the Northern beaches SUNS. Remaining Round 1 Women’s Fixture will be played on Wednesday nights at Riverway Stadium.
We have rounds 1-4 launching today with the remaining fixture to be released at a later date.
NB. Round 2 – University Venue may change due to COVID19 restrictions on Campus.
