AFL NAB CUP MATCH FOR SUNSHINE COAST

First ever AFL NAB Cup match to be held on the Sunshione Coast.

The Sunshine Coast will host the region’s first AFL NAB cup game on Saturday 10 March, with the Brisbane Lions taking on Carlton at the Fisherman’s Rd complex in Maroochydore.

The round 3 clash promises to be a cracker, with both teams expected to have full lists to choose from, including Lions Captain Jonathon Brown and Blues star Chris Judd, who is recovering from shoulder surgery.

The day will also feature lots of free family entertainment before and after the match, including AFL interactive games, Club merchandise and Bernie ‘Gabba’ Vegas.

Lions Coach Michael Voss said the game was a great result for the club and the community.

“We are thrilled to be playing a NAB Cup game on the Sunshine Coast,” Voss said.

“It’s an area with significant AFL interest and participation and it’s great to be able to give something back to the community there.”

“We’ve got a strong supporter base up there too and we can’t wait to get out there and play in front of our Sunny Coast fans.”

Tickets are expected to go on sale Monday, February 6.
