AFL Mackay recently announced a renewed partnership with Triple M Mackay and Whitsundays, which will see the radio station sponsor the Mackay Senior Women’s Competition for a second year.
The Senior Women’s Triple M Cup will kick off with Mackay’s very own Gather Round, held at Harrup Park on Saturday April 20.
Round 5 will see a Grand Final rematch between the 2023 Premiers North Mackay Saints and the Mackay City Hawks.
Last season saw North Mackay Saints going through undefeated for their maiden premiership win. The season was tightly contested, with many home and away games decided by less than a goal.
AFL Mackay Competition Manager Harry Hannaford, is pleased to welcome Triple M back as a sponsor this year and is excited to see the talent on display.
“We’re thrilled to have Triple M Mackay and Whitsundays on board as our naming rights sponsor for the senior women’s competition in 2024 to help promote Aussie Rules in the region,” he said.
“The relationship with Triple M Mackay and Whitsundays is important as it gives us a platform to showcase the talented women, girls and volunteers we currently have here in this league.
“Mackay has been a breeding ground of AFLW talent for a long time, and with exciting players coming through the youth ranks and the Gold Coast SUNS Academy who now move into the Senior Women’s competition, it’s great to be able to acknowledge the work our players and clubs do on a public platform.”
