AFL Brisbane Juniors set for record season

Preparations for the 2014 AFL Brisbane Juniors season are in full swing with online registrations open and a sign-on weekend scheduled for Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of February.

The league has announced two new clubs for season 2014, Ambrose Tracy and Fassifern, who are amongst forty-one clubs across Brisbane catering for boys and girls aged five to sixteen.

AFL Brisbane Juniors General Manager Cherie Brockwell said that the early indication was for another record season.

“Our clubs are accepting registrations online and we have over 700 players registered already,” said Brockwell.

“With sign-on still several weeks away this is a fantastic number so early in the year.”

Brockwell said the league was also excited to be introducing new initiatives in 2014 including female only competitions for Under 8, Under 10 and Under 12 age groups and the continued partnership with the Brisbane Lions to provide ticket packages with all registrations.

“AFL Brisbane Juniors aims to provide an option to enjoy AFL no matter what the ability, gender or experience level and we are constantly looking at new ways to achieve this,” she said.
