Oxley and Bell upgraded

Queenslanders, Adam Oxley and Tom Bell, will be upgraded onto senior lists at next week’s draft.

Both were mature-aged rookies recruited from the NEAFL, Oxley from Redland and Bell from Morningside.

Oxley was recruited by Collingwood in the 2012 rookie draft, and made his senior debut for the Magpies in the Queen’s Birthday clash against Melbourne this year.

His performance was enough to earn him a spot in Round 12 against the Bulldogs, but the youngster did not play any more senior games this season.

Bell, in his second season at Carlton in 2013, was upgraded in Round two for the Blues’ grudge match against Collingwood.

It was a quiet start for the 22 year-old, who played another six games in the regular season, including the final three home and away matches.

His late season form earned him a finals berth, with Bell playing in both of Carlton’s sudden-death matches.

With their promotion, both players will be available for senior selection from round one, 2014.
