HUGE UPSET IN WOMEN’S LEAGUE

There has been a massive upset in the semi-finals of the AFL Queensland Women’s League.

Logan have beaten undefeated minor premiers Morningside in an extra time semi-final to qualify for their fifth consecutive grand final in the Brisbane Women’s League.

In a massive upset at Morningside’s Esplen Oval yesterday (Sunday), Logan, the defending premiers, won 8-4 (52) to 5-10 (40), scoring two unanswered goals in extra time after scores were deadlocked at 6-4 to 5-10.

Jade Pregelj, Marlo Brack, Adair Henderson and Janille Passfield were the stars as Logan forced Morningside into next Sunday’s preliminary final at Zillmere.

Logan will play Western Magpies, who came from behind at halftime to beat Kedron Lions in the knockout semi-final.

The grand final will be played at Coorparoo at 11am on Saturday 21 August.
