The Surfers Paradise Football Club is a highly respected and prestigious community football club on the Gold Coast, playing in the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) since 2014, providing access to the great game of AFL football to people of all ages.

We are currently looking for experienced senior football coaches for the 2018 season, as we look to continue on the development of our fine young group of players. Applicants must have the required Level 1 Senior Coaching accreditation for the following positions:

Bond University Football Club

The Bond University Football Club was established in 2011 and since then it has developed into one of the most professional and well respected AFL programs in South East Queensland.

We are looking to conduct interviews at the club on a date TBC. We intend to discuss your plans and vision for the U16 or U18 cohort for 2018 on this day.

Successful candidates must demonstrate:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills in order to build on an already successful culture.
  • Having as a minimum, AFL Level 1 Coaching accreditation (or currently undergoing assessment)
  • Ability to liaise well with internal and external stakeholders e.g. committee members and sponsors

The Western Magpies are a leading Brisbane based AFL club that plays in the Tier 1 QAFL State League competition in South East QLD.  A thriving footy community with over 400 active participants from Auskick, Junior, Youth and Senior Football with a strong club culture.

The Western Magpies Senior QAFL Side operates with the following structure:

Senior Coach, 3 x line coaches (mid, forward, back) then a number of additional roles like stats, video, development, strength & conditioning that spread across the senior football program.

The football program at the Magpies has proven to be a strong pathway for young coaches in recent years, with a number of assistant coaches, development coaches and strength & conditioning coaches going on to senior roles, and in some cases at professional sporting bodies.

If you have the desire to coach, mentor and develop footballers to learn and improve, as well as develop your own skills (including interpersonal, leadership and of course football) then we would love to talk to you about joining the team for 2018.

Sandgate currently field female teams in U11’s through to U17’s, and had their inaugural QWFA side reach finals in Season 2017.

The Yeronga Devils AFC are seeking applications for the position of Senior Coach Playing or Non-Playing ahead of the 2018 QFA Division 1 season.

The Yeronga South Brisbane Football Club has a rich history spanning over 100 years.  In line with our tradition of strong leadership and culture we are currently seeking applications to fill the role of senior coach with a suitably experienced person who will ultimately lead the club not just through the upcoming season(s) but also towards our goal of becoming a QAFL club in the near future.

The successful applicant will be tasked with the development of the senior playing group in the QFA competition.  The club has an exciting future with our Women’s program hailed as one of the best in Queensland.  This success is something that we want to emulate in our men’s pathway whilst continuing to develop and build strong standards, values and culture at our club.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Having as a minimum, AFL Level 2 Coaching accreditation (or currently undergoing assessment) will help but not necessary as we are looking for the best coach
  • Be able to demonstrate experience working within a recognised talent pathway (preferably AFL)
  • Played or coached at a State League competition or its equivalent for at least 3-5 years or more
  • Demonstrate strong Communication and Leadership skills in order to help build a winning culture amongst players, staff and board members
  • Demonstrate ability to engage positively with our stakeholders, such as; female teams, members, sponsors and the media
  • Ability to develop a pathway for our club to grow on the field and drive standards that the players will follow.

It is preferable that applicants have extensive experience in AFL in any state and demonstrate an ability to drive a strategic plan to ensure our great club once again becomes a powerhouse in men’s football in Queensland.

The position on offer is renumerated in a part time basis.
