COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS
GRASSROOTS SUPPORT BENEFITS CLUBS IN 2012
2012 was another strong year for partnerships, key businesses and suppliers within the AFL Queensland environment.
Revenue generated through commercial operations increased
via commercial licensing, the acquisition of BUPA as our healthy community partner and the rollout out of the CCA loyalty program across Queensland clubs.
The increase in commercial revenue is in line with expectations as the game continues to expand through schools and new clubs.
Additionally with the assistance of sponsors and our partners, AFL Queensland increased the value of prizes, subsidies and contra to clubs from $30,000 to $60,000 in 2011/2012.
Coca Cola Amatil (CCA) has been a long term sponsor of AFL Queensland and has this year transitioned its partnership towards grassroots level club support via the CCA Loyalty Program which allows clubs to acquire points for their CCA purchase and redeem these points to purchase equipment and resources.
KooGa Sportswear expanded its commitment in 2012 and is now the major sponsor of the AFL Queensland Talent Program.
Health cover specialists BUPA joined forces with AFL Queensland in 2012 to deliver the Bupa Healthy Community AFL Program.
The program allowed families involved in the 117 junior football clubs across Queensland to learn and trial new family health management strategies through an online family health challenge.
The partnership has proven to be popular with junior clubs who received $20,000 worth of coaching and training equipment as part of the program.
BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS
AFL Queensland has maintained a number of long term business partners in a challenging economic environment.

The AFL Queensland Licensing Program continues to provide quality and value to our football community.
In July 2012, AFL Queensland undertook a full review of the program and called for expressions of interest from all apparel suppliers.
As a result, KooGa Sportswear, Cougar Sportswear, and Explosive return as licensed suppliers for a further three years with the addition of the 2XU brand.
Goal post manufacturer PILA and Sherrin will also continue their involvement with AFL Queensland.
