Toyota AFL Community Umpire Service: Jason Mitchell

The Mitchell family have a long and rich history with Queensland footy, with Jason celebrating his 20 years of service in 2019.

Jason has always been the definition of a team player, going above and beyond to help grow the game his family loves. Whether he is coordinating half time NAB AFL Auskick at the Gabba or umpiring at the Byron Bay Invitational, Jason is always willing to help out.

Over the past four years Jason has contributed to the success of umpiring retention by chipping into the duties required. From being a gate keeper and setting up water jugs twice a week to assisting with uniform distribution and on countless occasions driving across Southeast Queensland (SEQ) to drop off items, Jason is ever reliable.

His best asset is his strong work ethic.  He has been a part of SEQ Juniors for a number of years but this season he has stepped up and been a fundamental part of the SEQ junior umpire coaching and appointments area.

A team player you can call at anytime to assist, Jason is passionate about the umpiring community, not only developing young people and their skills but as an active driving force within the community football ranks.

Thanks for all you do for umpiring in Queensland, Jason!
