State Under 14 & 17 Championship Coaching & Team Managers Positions

AFL Queensland are calling for applications to fill the following regional representative talent roles for the State Youth Boys & Girls Championships for Under 14 Boys, Under 14 Girls & Under 17 Girls.

The training program dates will be confirmed by each region, commencing mid-June and leading into the state carnival that commences on September 20.

The following regional teams may require roles as Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager and Strength & Conditioning coaches.

U14 Youth Boys

Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay, Brisbane North, Moreton Bay, Brisbane South East, Brisbane South West, Darling Downs, Gold Coast North, Gold Coast South, Northern Rivers.

U14 Youth Girls

Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay, Brisbane North, Moreton Bay, Brisbane South, Darling Downs, Gold Coast North, Gold Coast South, Northern Rivers.

U17 Youth Girls

Sunshine Coast-Wide Bay, Brisbane North, Brisbane South, Darling Downs, Gold Coast, Northern Rivers.

The vacant roles may include;

Head Coach

  • Level 2 Coaching Accreditation
  • Role model behaviours
  • Coaching philosophy that is built around player development
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to teach modern tactics and advanced contact skills
  • Understanding of the youth player and youth issues
  • Working with Children Card

Assistant Coach

  • Minimum 2-year Foundation or Level 2 Coaching Accreditation
  • Coaching philosophy build around player development
  • Ability to support Head Coach
  • Good communication skills
  • Individual skill development and defensive skills teaching
  • Understanding of the youth player and youth issues
  • Working with Children Card

Team Manager

  • Support the coaching staff, Regional Development Manager and Coaching, Talent & Engagement Coordinators in the running of trainings, equipment preparation, administration and match day carnival for your team
  • Good communication skills
  • Role model behaviours
  • Ensure drinks are ready at the breaks on training and match days
  • Ensure trainers have required supplies and support
  • Understanding of the youth player and youth issues
  • Working with Children card

Strength & Conditioning Coach

  • Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) minimum Level 1 Certification
  • ASADA Anti-Doping Certification Badge 1.
  • Current First Aid & CPR.
  • Working with Children check.
  • Experience in athletic preparation for youth teams.
  • Able lead, mentor and educate youth athletes.
  • To be an excellent role model.
