With the 2019 football season now wound to a close, registrations are once again available for the AFL Queensland Level 2 Coaching Course.
The course is available to any coaches and assistant coaches from high performance teams, community clubs, talent programs and secondary schools.
The course will be held in South East Queensland at locations in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
The sessions follow on the AFL Queensland Level 2 courses conducted in Cairns and Mackay.
Two dates have been opened for the Brisbane course, run on November 16 for Senior coaches (Under 18, Reserves and Seniors) and November 17 for Youth coaches (Under 14 to Under 17).
The Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast courses, unlike the Brisbane courses, will combine both senior and youth coaches on the one day on February 16 and February 22 respectively.
Level 2 coaching courses are designed for coaches who have coaching roles in either the youth or senior age groups during the year of competition of the course.
To be eligible to attend, coaches must be a current CoachAFL member, holding a level one of Foundation Coaching Accreditation for at least twelve months and be coaching in an age group corresponding to the level of course.
The Level 2 coach accreditation course consists of an online module, a one day face-to-face course which includes practical sessions and a post course self-reflection task that is to be completed throughout the season.
The course covers six key competencies covering a wide range of topics, including strategy, philosophy, planning, relationships, reflection, match day coaching and effective coaching practices.
The one day course will cost $250.00 which includes catering, resources and guest presenters. Presenters will include a wide range of experience in both high performance and community football.
Level 2 Coaches who are looking to update are also welcomed to attend. They can attend a half day for $125.
