SEQ Women’s & QFA Colts Grand Final Venues Announcement

AFL Queensland wishes to advise that following the finalisation of Grand Final qualifiers in all SEQ senior women’s competitions, a number of venue changes have occurred.

The uniqueness of the 2020 season timing, coupled with venue constraints, required multiple Grand Finals to be scheduled on the same day. With the Grand Finalists of all competitions now known, a number of challenges have emerged for clubs where they have teams spread across two venues. In an endeavour to support clubs in regards to players, volunteers and supporters, AFL Queensland has re-aligned all QFAW Grand Final games that were originally scheduled for Yeronga. Similarly, the QFA Colts Grand Final has been rescheduled, with Victoria Point and Aspley now playing on Saturday at Sandgate at 9.30am.

The QFAW D2 North Grand Final between Noosa and Hinterland, will now align with the QFA D1 Hart Sport Grand Final day at Moreton Bay, with the game to commence at 10am.

Bond University will play host to four women’s Grand Finals on Sunday, with Jimboomba and Beenleigh kickstarting the day at 10am in the QFAW D2 South decider.  Yeronga and Coorparoo will go head to head in the Development League clash at midday, before the QAFLW decider between Coolangatta and Yeronga at 2pm. QFAW D1 heavyweights, Surfers Paradise and Southport, will bookend the day at 4.30pm.

AFL Queensland would like to acknowledge and thank the participating teams and the host clubs for supporting these changes and allowing them to be ratified so quickly.
