Palm Beach Currumbin Australian Football Club is currently the most successful team on the Gold Coast, with ‘back-to-back’ Premiership wins in 2017 and 2018. Competing in the top tier of AFL in Queensland, referred to as the QAFL, our Club will appoint a new Senior Coach for Season 2019.
Our Club is in a very strong position both ‘on and off field’, supported by strong leaders and an experienced senior playing core, and fortunate to be brimming with ‘up and coming talent’. Continued development from within will again be a strong focus for Season 2019 and beyond.
The Senior Coach will be responsible for implementing a football program based on strong leadership, elite standards, individual player development and education, and a structured game style that will be applied across all three of our Club’s teams; Seniors, Development Squad (Reserve Gr.) & Under 18½ Colts. Transparency and consistency for the coaching group involved is essential, with the requirement being that all three grades execute the same game style.
The successful candidate for Senior Coach will report directly to our Club’s Football Department and undergo performance assessments regularly, and also be part of a team approach that is committed to promoting our Club’s brand and culture. A strong work ethic and desire to develop the playing group is required. Assisting players to reach their full potential and aspire to progress to the next level will remain at the forefront of the role. Introduction of fresh ideas in a supportive and collaborative environment will be a necessary strength for the successful candidate.
The successful candidate for Senior Coach will also possess:
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lead individuals and teams
• Desire to improve coaching knowledge and skills
• Current coaching accreditation (min. Level 2 or working towards)
Short listed candidates for Senior Coach will be expected, with suitable advance notice, to present their plans in detail to a selection panel on behalf of our Club.
Applicants for the position of Senior Coach are requested to send their expression of interest and resume, including details of coaching experience, to Scott Lawton (Coaching Co-ordinator PBCAFC) at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0419366109.
Acceptance of applications will close 5pm Thursday 10th January 2019.
