Six-year-old Max Monaghan from Heritage Park in Queensland has been named the 2019 NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year at an awards ceremony in Melbourne on Thursday night.
Max is a passionate Sydney Swans fan who can name every Swans player and jumper number from memory. In addition, Max also loves to commentate football just like his favourite AFL commentator Brian Taylor.
Max is the eleventh winner of the annual NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year competition, which sees NAB provide 22 lucky Auskicker of the Year nominees from across the country with an unforgettable AFL experience.
As part of his prize as the 2019 NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year, Max was presented with a $5,000 NAB Reward Saver Account and will have Geelong Cats captain Joel Selwood and Richmond AFLW star Katie Brennan as his personal footy mentors for 2020.
Max, along with his fellow NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year nominees will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final this weekend, where they will walk in the Toyota AFL Grand Final parade, present AFL Premiership players with their medals and play NAB AFL Auskick at half-time on the hallowed turf of the MCG.
The NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year competition demonstrates NAB’s commitment to supporting footballers from the grassroots to the big time – celebrating the passion and dedication of thousands of children who attend NAB AFL Auskick centres across Australia every weekend.

NAB AFL Auskick mentors Joel Selwood and Katie Brennan said that they were excited to help Max develop his skills in 2020.
