QFA Division 1 Head of Men’s Football – University of Queensland AFC

University of QLD QFA Div 1 squad is seeking expressions of interest for a head of mens football.

The University of Queensland Australian Rules Football Club (UQAFC) Red Lions is a club playing in Divisions 1 and 4 of the SEQ Men’s competitions as well as well as the QAFLW (2 teams) of SEQ Women’s League. Located in close vicinity to Brisbane’s CBD, our club attracts many new players and support staff from all over the country.

Skills required:

To co-ordinate on and off field football activities for the (QAFL, QWAFL, QAFA) to ensure that all players and off field staff are provided with support to enable them to compete and make finals.
To provide support to the President and Committee members to ensure the efficient operation of the Club.
People leadership attributes.

Responsible for:

General

To ensure all off field football matters are dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner for the grade of competition.
Assist other Committee members in their duties as required
Undertake tasks at the request of the President, Executive or General Committee
Attend relevant club, committee, division or code meetings
Pre Season

Coordinate formulation of the Football Operational Plan
Formulate remuneration packages and contracts for players and coaches and ensure the contracts are executed where relevant.
Ensure that all contacts fall within the allocated budget and that variations are brought to the Club Executive prior to the Club being committed to the variation.
Appoint appropriate personnel, or ensure they are appointed; Operations, Coach, Fee Collector and Social Representative.
Negotiate all clearances and player registrations in accordance with the league rules
During season

Coordinate delivery of the Football Operational Plan.
Provide documentation in consultation with the Treasurer, all player payments and coaching fees act within the limits of that budget.
Liaise between players, coaches, Club Executive and General Committee.
Ensure all support staff are in attendance and are provided with appropriate equipment to undertake their specific role.
Ensure players attending League tribunal hearings are supported.
Provide a report on portfolio operations to the monthly Committee meeting

Finals Appearances of teams in the divisions

Estimated time commitment:

What you make it, minimum 5 hours per week – Working with own team, Leadership team meeting monthly, initial plan construction, sponsor meetings
