AFLQ Announces ‘Match of the Round’ Live Streaming

AFL Queensland have today announced that a “Match of the Round” in both the QAFL and the Bond University QAFLW competitions will now be live streamed for the remainder of the 2020 season.

The promotion of a “Match of the Round” will showcase the plethora of talent in our two State League competitions, and provide a platform for our talented players that are vying for draft consideration in 2021 to be seen by AFL and AFLW scouts.

AFL Queensland State Manager – Senior Football, Barry Gibson, said that the opportunity to showcase our elite community football competitions was an added bonus to the revised 2020 seasons. “After making the tough decision to not live stream any games this year due to budgetary constraints, we have been fortunate enough to be in a position to reallocate some funds to cover the streaming costs for the remainder of both the QAFL and Bond University QAFLW seasons”, Gibson said.

“With over 85 players that would otherwise have been playing in the NEAFL competition, and over 50 players that have played in the AFLW competition earlier this year, the quality of both premier men’s and women’s competitions will be exceptional.”  Gibson added.

With most competitions in Victoria unfortunately unable to play, and a large number of leagues throughout Australia not progressing in 2020, AFL Queensland are buoyed by the fact that all competitions in Queensland are going ahead.

“We are very grateful that we are able to be playing in 2020, and we want to allow our football community in Queensland, and our many followers around Australia the ability to tune in to watch our elite competitions on a weekly basis,” Gibson said.

All games will be promoted on the QAFL and QAFLW Facebook Pages, and can be watched live via the following links:
