Queensland U17s Wrap

The Queensland Under 17 state side came away with a convincing win today, against the NSW/ACT Rams.

After a scrappy few opening minutes and an even first half, the Queenslanders broke away and finished the game on top 14.8.92 to 7.8.50.

Zippy Queensland forward Fitzroy Greenwool stole the show, kicking five goals and showing blistering speed at ground level. The Cape York Eagles product also wowed the crowd with some strong marks and accurate set shot kicking.

Midfielder Cooper Portelli was another standout performer, collecting a huge amount of the ball and working incredibly hard around the ground. Tom Matthews chimed in with three goals and provided some link up play higher up the ground, while Caleb Franks and Caleb Graham both put in solid contributions.

NSW/ACT and Sydney Swans Academy talent Kyle McKeller, displayed some flashy moves, hit the scoreboard and was strong overhead.

Rams midfielder Shaun Driscoll was also impressive, taking the game on and bursting through stoppages, battling against the flow of play.
