
The Youth Girls Cup (formerly the Jonathan Brown Cup) fosters the development of Australian Football by providing grade 8-12 secondary school female students from across south-east Queensland with the opportunity to participate in an Australian Football competition. The Youth Girls Cup is to provide a fun, friendly environment concerned with the development of the game and students participating.
Characteristics of this exciting format include: Nine players per side, facilitates open play with all students getting a fair go, smaller playing field, rotation of players through positions at the end of each quarter.
This Cup is a Carnival Day style format with one team from each region progressing through to the Youth Girls Cup grand final day.

Stage 2: Youth Girls Cup Finals
Pool Final winners play a finals carnival day against other pool winners on Tuesday 26th March, 2013 at Yeronga AFC, Cansdale St, Yeronga.

The Brisbane Lions Cup (Girls) is the pinnacle of interschool AFL for secondary girls in South East Queensland.
Designed as the next step up from the Youth Girls Cup, and open to all secondary schools, girls compete in a 15-a-side competition on larger fields with full tackling allowed.
With divisions in Junior (Year 8-9) and Senior (Year 10-12), this annual competition is a great taste of what club footy has to offer for girls and women in Queensland.
Run in a similar format to the Youth Girls Cup, schools can win their way through to a South East Queensland Grand Final, to be held in 2013 on Thursday 19th September at Yeronga AFC.

The Brisbane School Girls Sporting Association offer an 8 week competition in Term 1 for schools who are members of their association as well as invited schools.
The competition is a two division, 9-a-side competition divided into 3 regions, Brisbane North, Brisbane South and Brisbane West. The two divisions are Junior (Years 8 & 9) and Senior (Years 10-12).
This competition has provided a great springboard to many of our representative programs due to its high standard and duration.

The TAS Youth Girls Carnival Day is designed to assist AFL Queensland achieve its aim to promote and develop the game of Australian Football to girls in the state of Queensland.
The carnival day is run late each year on a Saturday morning.
