In 2012, Qld qualified for the finals with an amazing come from behind win against South Australia to pip Western Australia on percentage for a spot in the finals. As a curtain closer to the North Melbourne v Port Adelaide game, Qld went down to a very skilled Victoria. This is the first time Qld has ever made a final in a Division 1 Championships either male or female so a great effort from our girls.
Congratulations also to Emily Bates, Tayla Harris, Megan Hunt, Jordan Zanchetta and Ally Anderson for all being selected in the U18 All-Australian team for 2012. Emily, Tayla & Megan all got to attend the week long High Performance Academy in Melbourne in Mid-July with all of the senior women's All-Australian players.
Selection for this team in 2013 will be from the Under 17 Youth Girls State Championships held in Cairns from 26-28 October.
