The AFL Queensland 'Scorpions' is the state representative football program for junior football players in Queensland at the Under 18 level.
Players are chosen from the State Development Championships which are held annually and involves clubs from the Talented Player Pathway program of AFL Queensland.
The Scorpions play a series of games against other states, and at the Under 18 level also play teams from the Victorian TAC Under 18 Competition in the lead up to the National Under 16 and Under 18 Championships.....More.

The Brisbane Lions Academy and Gold Coast Football Club Academy have been created to identify, attract and develop players as young as 12 years of age, taking their development through to drafting age for the NAB Draft and NAB Rookie Draft.
Queensland is split into 6 regional clubs. These clubs are the first step on the talented players pathway, giving players aged 13 to 18 an opportunity to develop their footballing skills.
The 6 regional clubs are the Country Kookaburras, Gold Coast Stingrays, Northern Raiders, South East Bushrangers, Suncoast Power and the Western Taipans.

Athlete Rookie Search is a program run by AFL Queensland and the Brisbane Lions to give athletes from all sports an opporunity to access elite player pathways in the sport of AFL.
This program allows talented athletes, from any sport and culture, an opportunity to be tested for key athletic attributes and skills, which are necessary to "make it to the top" in AFL football......More.

The Female Football Academy was established in 2008. Since then the Academy has evolved into a vital link for players between 15-21 year olds girls who have shown potential in leadership and skill development at club, school or representative level.
