The best centre half back of his era and, with Dick Parton, was the backbone of Windsor’s magnificent five premierships in a row from 1936-40. Widely known as ‘Toby’, he represented Queensland from 1934-40. His son, also nicknamed Toby, played 208 games for Wilston-Grange in the 1950s and ‘60s, and his grandson also played with the Gorillas.
