George_NussA tough rover in the Leigh Matthews mould who won the J.L.Williams Medal for the ‘best and manliest player in the Commonwealth’ at the 1932 and ‘33 national schoolboy carnivals.Forged a splendid career with Mayne despite a lengthy suspension which was overturned after a Queen’s pardon. Played for Queensland form 1938-49 and was regarded by many as being among the best players of his era.
