The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS are to partner with new SEQAFL Division 2 Under 18’s football club, The Greater Western Suburbs AFC.
Greater Western Suburbs Vice-President Dean Hooley said the move was designed to promote AFL in Brisbane’s Western Suburbs.
“We are creating something unique for our area and we are very pleased to be aligned with newest of the AFL Clubs,” said Hooley.
“ Having an affiliation with the Greater Western Sydney GIANTS brings great opportunities for our players, our club and, particularly, our club sponsors.”
GWS Giants Coach Kevin Sheedy said the partnership would provide benefits to the local football community and the club.
“ We really like the concept and we’re right behind it,” said Sheedy.
“ It gives us great exposure in the Western Brisbane area and we’re happy to assist the Greater Western Suburbs GIANTS wherever possible.
The Greater Western Suburbs AFC will hold a sign-on weekend for Under Under 18 players this Saturday the 1st and Sunday 2nd of December at Redbank State High School, between 10am and 2pm each day.
