First aid for flooded clubs

Alpha Sport is pitching in to help out Queensland footy clubs affected by the 2013 floods.

The first aid company is offering free basic sports first aid kits to all clubs who were impacted by the floods last month.

Alpha Sport and Alpha First Aid director, Wayne Messer, said it was important to be able to help out Queensland’s community clubs in their time of need.

“We believe that because we’re involved with community sports, this is part of the role we play,” Messer said.

“Helping these clubs out is a crucial part of our involvement with community football.”

“We want to show the clubs that they’re dealing with a company that has a soul.”

The kits contain items required for basic sporting first aid treatment including strapping tape, eye wash and bandages.

Alpha Sport previously offered free kits to sporting clubs across the state after the 2011 floods, an opportunity that was taken up by numerous clubs.

Clubs can apply for a kit by emailing community football manager, Cherie Brockwell, at cherie.brockwell@aflq-new.fspdev.com and providing details on how they were affected.

Applications close on March 1, 2013.
